Roll a Barber RNG Trait Tier List for Online Shop Progression

Last updated:

A useful trait can improve a barber’s payments, speed up haircuts or help replenish rerolls. Choose what to keep around the job you need that barber to do.

Keep Crown Cut, Fortune’s Favorite or Overdrive for strong online progression. Crown Cut combines 1.8× Money with +50% Cut Speed; Fortune’s Favorite gives 2.5× Money and 2× Tips; Overdrive leads for cutting speed at 2.2×. Smooth Operator and Speed Demon are useful stepping stones. Prioritize Collector for reroll drops and Star Stylist for payments from VIP, Celebrity and Golden customers.

Trait Tiers for Online Shop Progression

The tiers prioritize broadly useful Money and Cut Speed effects for an active shop. Bonuses apply to the barber holding the trait.

S-tier traits are strong stopping points: Crown Cut improves both payment and cutting speed, Fortune’s Favorite combines a large Money multiplier with doubled Tips, and Overdrive is the leading speed choice. Pick among them by the improvement your worker needs.

A-tier traits are worth keeping while building your team. Smooth Operator improves both Money and Cut Speed, while Speed Demon offers a larger speed boost. Both can support progression without spending more rerolls immediately.

B-tier specialists can be the best choice for a specific goal. Collector takes priority when you want reroll resources, and Star Stylist targets special-customer payments. Charmer suits a Tips focus; Quick Hands and Smooth Talker provide moderate single-stat upgrades.

C-tier traits still provide positive bonuses. Swift, Friendly and Tidy are reasonable starting results, but stronger options for the same goal make them easier to replace.

For rarity and individual effect lookups, use the trait directory.

Overdrive or Crown Cut?

Choose Overdrive for pure cutting speed. Choose Crown Cut when you want both faster cuts and higher payments. Overdrive gives 2.2× Cut Speed, while Crown Cut gives +50% Cut Speed and 1.8× Money.

These example configurations show the tradeoff on the same barbers. Speed and Pay are panel multipliers, not seconds per haircut or cash per second.

Barber Active trait Speed Pay
Fade Phantom Overdrive ×6.82 ×8.07
Fade Phantom Crown Cut ×4.65 ×14.53
Neon Nico No Trait ×2.25 ×4.94
Neon Nico Smooth Operator ×2.70 ×7.17
Neon Nico Overdrive ×4.95 ×4.94
Neon Nico Crown Cut ×3.38 ×8.90

Overdrive produces the higher Speed value on both barbers; Crown Cut trades some of that speed for higher Pay. Favor Overdrive when cutting time is your priority, or keep Crown Cut for a balanced improvement. Neither panel stat alone determines the shop’s total income.

For cutting speed alone, the order is Overdrive ×2.2 > Speed Demon +75% > Crown Cut +50% > Quick Hands +35% > Smooth Operator +20% > Swift +15%. Speed Demon therefore beats Crown Cut on speed while sitting below it in the overall progression tiers.

If you are also choosing who should work, compare your available barbers with the lineup guide.

Best Picks for Money, Tips and Reroll Resources

A trait’s overall tier weighs its usefulness across online progression. For a single goal, compare the relevant effect directly.

Money

For Money bonuses without a customer-type requirement, choose in this order:

Fortune’s Favorite ×2.5 > Crown Cut ×1.8 > Smooth Operator +45% > Smooth Talker +30% > Collector +15% > Tidy +12%.

Fortune’s Favorite is the strongest direct Money choice in this comparison. Crown Cut and Smooth Operator also improve Cut Speed, giving them a second way to help a working barber.

Tips

The Tips order is Fortune’s Favorite ×2 > Charmer +80% > Friendly +40%. Keep Charmer if Tips are your immediate priority and Fortune’s Favorite is out of reach. A Tips bonus applies to Tips, so Charmer’s +80% is not an 80% increase to all income. For equipment that supports the same goal, see the Tips bonuses guide.

Reroll resources

Collector is the preferred resource specialist: it provides 2× Trait Reroll drops alongside +15% Money. Its B tier reflects its narrower purpose; when replenishing rerolls is your goal, that drop effect matters more than its position in the Money order.

Special-customer payments

Star Stylist gives 2.5× payments from VIP, Celebrity and Golden customers served by its holder. Choose it for those customers. Unlike Fortune’s Favorite’s Money bonus, its payment multiplier depends on customer type. See the customer guide for customer categories and walking-speed upgrades.

Keep a Strong Result When Rerolls Are Low

Stop when the current trait already fits your goal and further attempts would spend rerolls you want to save. Replacing a useful result gives up its benefits for a random new trait.

  • Keep Fortune’s Favorite on a money-and-tips worker such as Nova Blade. Its two earning bonuses make it a strong result to retain.
  • Keep Crown Cut on a balanced worker such as Neon Nico when resources are low. Its mixed bonus is a good reason to stop instead of chasing a Legendary label.
  • Keep Overdrive when cutting speed is the purpose of that worker. A higher-rarity result is not automatically a better fit for that job.
  • Keep a useful A-tier result while improving the rest of your team. Smooth Operator or Speed Demon can remain productive while you save more attempts.

If the replacement confirmation appears and you want to preserve your current trait, choose KEEP IT. For the altar location, reroll steps, resource farming and pity budget, follow the trait reroll guide.
