Roll a Barber RNG Skill Tree: Upgrades, Paths and Budget

Last updated:

The Skill Tree upgrades your shop’s pay, cutting speed, customer walking speed, barber capacity, luck, and rolling speed. Choose the branch that addresses your current bottleneck, then budget for the target and any prerequisites you still need.

Start with Money I for $24,000 and +50% money per haircut. Consider Chair 2 for $230,000 when you have another suitable barber ready to work. Choose Cutting for slow haircuts, Customer for slow walking, and Luck or Fast Rolls for rolling goals. Add each unowned node once when planning a purchase: Money I through III costs $4,424,000, while Money III costs $4,000,000 if you already own Money II.

Add the individual cash prices of selected unowned skill nodes; include required predecessors manually and count each node once.

Open and Navigate the Skill Tree

  1. Click the tree-shaped SKILL TREE button on the left side of the screen.
  2. Drag to move around the tree and use the mouse wheel to zoom.
  3. Hover over a node to read its description and price at the bottom of the window.
  4. Follow its branch and buy an available node when you have enough cash. Purchased nodes turn blue and reveal subsequent upgrades.

To find your first income upgrade, look for Money I, the money-bag node above and to the left of Start. If Auto Roll is already active, it continues while you browse the tree.

Node Effects, Prices and Connections

The 21 nodes below cover 18 stat upgrades and three Chair upgrades. Prices are individual purchases in in-game cash; K means thousand and M means million.

Read the relationship labels when planning a route:

  • Requires: buy the named predecessor before the target.
  • Unlocking reveals: purchasing this node exposes the next upgrade.
  • Connected to: identifies a line on the tree, without establishing the full purchase requirement.

Money affects pay per haircut, Cutting affects cutting speed, and Customer affects customer walking speed. Luck and Fast Rolls improve different parts of rolling: luck versus the interval between rolls. Chair 2 and Chair 3 raise total working capacity to two and three slots, respectively.

Percentage effects describe the individual node’s tooltip. Treat them as node descriptions, not as a formula for adding every tier into a total shop bonus.

Which Branch Should You Buy Next?

Money I is a strong first purchase: its $24,000 price gives you an early way to improve pay from completed haircuts. After that, choose according to what is holding your shop or rolling goal back.

Your current situation Suggested purchase Why it fits
Haircuts finish regularly, but each pays too little Next available Money node Improves money per haircut.
You have a suitable idle barber and only one working slot Chair 2 Adds capacity so another barber can work at the same time.
Barbers spend too long cutting Next available Cutting node Targets the haircut stage directly.
Customers spend too long walking Next available Customer node Improves customer movement rather than cutting.
Your immediate goal is better roll luck Next available Luck node Targets roll luck; Luck II has a +20% tooltip.
Your immediate goal is more frequent rolls Next available Fast Rolls node Shortens the interval between rolls.

A new slot needs a barber assigned to it before it helps your shop. Chair 2 is especially useful when you can fill it immediately; use the barber slot guide for the unlock-and-equip steps. The customer guide explains the walking part of the service cycle.

If you are close to your first rebirth and that is your immediate goal, consider postponing Fast Rolls II’s $4M purchase. Spending that cash on rolling speed leaves less toward rebirth. Check the first rebirth requirements and reset details before committing the money.

For rolling-focused progression, compare other luck sources or follow the Auto Roll and faster rolling guide. If the next investment might be outside the tree, the money guide compares shop improvements across systems.

Follow the Money and Speed Branches

Money: raise pay per haircut

Follow Start → Money I → Money II → Money III → Money IV. Each Money tier after I requires the preceding tier.

  • Money I: $24K; +50% money per haircut.
  • Money II: $400K; +100% money per haircut.
  • Money III: $4M; +150% money per haircut.
  • Money IV: $35M.

Buying Money I reveals Money II; buying Money II reveals Money III; buying Money III reveals Money IV. The $35M price is for Money IV alone, so include earlier unowned tiers in your budget.

Cutting and Customer: target the slow stage

Cutting I → Cutting II → Cutting III costs $62K → $630K → $13M. Their individual tooltip effects are +20%, +25%, and +30% Cutting Speed. Each later node requires the preceding Cutting tier.

Customer I → Customer II → Customer III costs $78K → $1.1M → $21M. Customer I targets walking speed; Customer II’s tooltip says customers walk 25% faster, and Customer III’s says 30% faster. Buy Customer I before II, then II before III.

Choose between these branches by watching the service cycle: Cutting addresses time spent on the haircut, while Customer addresses time spent walking.

Fast Rolls: shorten roll intervals

Follow Fast Rolls I → Fast Rolls II → Fast Rolls III, priced at $140K → $4M → $68M. Each later tier requires the preceding one. Both I and II have a “Rolls 10% faster” tooltip.

For a concrete interval example, with Fast Rolls I owned and a temporary ×1.5 Roll Speed boost active, purchasing Fast Rolls II reduced the displayed interval from 1.20 seconds to 1.08 seconds. Keep that temporary boost condition when comparing the example with your own interval.

Luck and its connected upgrades

The branch runs Luck I → Luck II → Luck III, with individual prices of $75K, $630K, and $14M. Luck II requires Luck I and gives +20% Roll Luck; unlocking II reveals III.

Golden Roll costs $27M and Mega Luck I costs $64M. Both connect to Luck III on the tree. Those connections identify where to find them; they are not a complete prerequisite list.

Chair: expand working capacity

Follow Chair 2 → Chair 3 → Chair 4, priced at $230K → $14M → $85M. Chair 3 requires Chair 2, and Chair 4 requires Chair 3. Chair 2 and Chair 3 unlock two and three total working slots. Continue with the slot setup instructions when you are ready to put another barber to work.

Calculate the Nodes You Still Need

Use the cost planner to add the target node plus every required predecessor you have not bought. Prerequisites are not added automatically.

  1. Find the target and follow its prerequisite chain back to a node you own.
  2. Set the quantity to 1 for each node you still need to purchase.
  3. Leave owned nodes and unrelated upgrades at 0. Count each node only once.
  4. Compare the cash total with your current balance.
Target Nodes already owned Nodes still needed Remaining purchase cost
Money III No Money nodes Money I, II, III $4,424,000
Money III Money I and II Money III $4,000,000
Money IV No Money nodes Money I, II, III, IV $39,424,000
Money IV Money I and II Money III, IV $39,000,000

For example, the full Money route through III is $24,000 + $400,000 + $4,000,000 = $4,424,000. Including Money IV adds another $35,000,000. Owning Money II means its required Money I is already behind you; neither price belongs in your remaining budget.

The total is a purchase budget, before subtracting your current cash. To turn it into a cash shortfall and an estimated wait using your actual online earning rate, enter the total in the savings calculator.
