Barber Management

Roll a Barber RNG Lineup Guide: Early and Three-Slot Picks

Last updated:

Build a working team around the barbers you own, their current traits, and your unlocked chairs. A high Pay multiplier can be useful, but service speed can make a lower-Pay worker the better choice.

For a three-slot shop, prioritize Nova Blade, Fade Phantom, and Neon Nico with a useful trait such as Overdrive or Crown Cut. Earlier on, Blade Blake can work beside Fade Phantom, while Prince Pomade is a candidate without a trait. Open BARBERS to equip them manually or use EQUIP BEST, then check the equipped counter and green checkmarks. Compare Speed and current traits before replacing a worker with a high-Pay Gold or Rainbow copy.

Editorial worker recommendations for early and three-slot online shops, based on the shown traits, service speed and lineup changes.

Earlier-Stage Options

Useful candidates before the recommended three-slot configurations are available, without claiming an equal-condition ranking between them.

High-Pay Alternatives

These specific mutated copies have high Pay but modest Speed; they are alternatives rather than automatic upgrades to the core team.

Recommended Workers for These Shop Stages

Three-Slot Core

Use Nova Blade, Fade Phantom, and Neon Nico together when you have three chairs and suitable copies.

  • Nova Blade: A strong anchor for this stage, retaining its slot through both three-worker lineup changes. Fortune's Favorite is a useful configuration to keep on it, adding ×2.5 money and ×2 tips for Nova Blade.
  • Fade Phantom: A flexible pick for both two- and three-worker shops. Its speed makes it worth keeping even against a mutated worker with higher Pay; the Rainbow comparison gives the specific tradeoff.
  • Neon Nico: A practical partner for Fade Phantom before the third chair, then the third member alongside Nova Blade. Overdrive favors faster cutting, while Crown Cut combines speed and money bonuses.

Earlier-Stage Options

  • Blade Blake: Use it alongside Fade Phantom while building your early team. Its no-trait configuration has ×1.60 Speed and ×2.97 Pay.
  • Prince Pomade: Consider it when the trait-equipped core is unavailable. Its no-trait configuration has ×2.30 Speed and ×5.24 Pay, making it a candidate to compare against an early worker. It remains outside the later three-slot core.

High-Pay Alternatives

Rainbow Fresh Felix, Gold Buzz Benny, and Gold Stella Shear are alternatives when your inventory is still developing. Their no-trait configurations offer substantial Pay but relatively slow service. Compare them against the worker they would replace using the Speed and Pay comparison, rather than choosing by mutation label alone.

Find other candidates and their condition-specific attributes in the barber list.

Equip, Replace and Clear Workers

You must own a barber before assigning them, and each worker needs an unlocked slot.

  1. Open BARBERS using the button on the left side of the screen.
  2. Find your worker with Search barbers… or use the Pay sorting control.
  3. Select the card. Read Speed, Pay, and Trait in the details panel; Owned also shows how many are working.
  4. If the team is full, select the worker you want to replace and click UNEQUIP.
  5. Select the replacement and click EQUIP. Confirm that its card gains a green checkmark and the equipped count increases.

Use UNEQUIP ALL at the top of the menu to clear the working lineup before rebuilding it. Unequipping leaves the barber in your inventory; use the separate selling process when you want to sell unwanted copies.

The counter reflects your unlocked capacity: 2/2 equipped means both available slots are occupied. More capacity comes from Chair nodes in the Skill Tree. After unlocking Chair 3, return to BARBERS and fill the third slot. Follow the barber slot guide for the unlock requirements and purchases.

Use Equip Best and Check the Result

  1. Open BARBERS and note your current workers and shop income display.
  2. Click the green EQUIP BEST button at the top, beside UNEQUIP ALL.
  3. Check the green checkmarks on the selected cards. With three unlocked chairs and enough owned workers, confirm 3/3 equipped.
  4. Select a chosen barber and check the working count under Owned, then return to the shop to see the workers at their stations.
  5. Compare the resulting income display with your previous team while keeping the same slot count and other upgrades unchanged.

After Chair 3 was unlocked, one three-slot setup used Equip Best to add Neon Nico beside Nova Blade and Fade Phantom; its displayed income changed from $276,000/s to $295,000/s. In the later Rainbow Fresh Felix comparison, the same button swapped Felix out for Fade Phantom while keeping the other two workers.

Treat the resulting team as a starting choice for your current inventory. Check the selected copies' traits and the shop result instead of assuming Equip Best simply selects the highest Pay values.

Why a Higher Pay Number Can Lose a Slot

Higher Pay alone does not guarantee higher shop income. A much slower worker can lose out to a faster candidate, even when the faster worker has a lower Pay multiplier.

In a three-slot setup with Nova Blade and Crown Cut Neon Nico staying equipped, replacing Rainbow Fresh Felix with no trait with Jackpot King Fade Phantom changed the shop display as follows:

Worker occupying the remaining slot Trait Speed Pay Total shop income display
Rainbow Fresh Felix None ×1.22 ×12.24 $253,000/s
Fade Phantom Jackpot King ×3.10 ×8.07 $333,000/s

Fade Phantom's lower Pay was paired with substantially higher Speed, and the replacement team had the higher displayed income. These totals belong to that three-worker setup; they are not either barber's individual earnings.

The same tradeoff matters for other candidates:

  • Gold Buzz Benny, no trait: ×1.10 Speed and ×6.14 Pay. For the two-worker stage, favor the faster Fade Phantom and suitably trait-equipped Neon Nico pairing over replacing either solely for Benny's Gold Pay.
  • Gold Stella Shear, no trait: ×1.25 Speed and ×9.60 Pay. Consider it if your current worker is weak, but its slow service makes it a less compelling replacement for the established core.
  • Prince Pomade, no trait: ×2.30 Speed and ×5.24 Pay. It offers a faster, lower-Pay alternative to those Gold copies and is worth considering earlier, before you have the stronger trait-equipped team.

Keep all available slots filled while comparing replacements. Once the team is settled, use the online money guide to choose between further worker improvements, chairs, skills, and equipment.

Reconsider the Team After a Trait Change

A barber's current trait can change its role in your lineup. Overdrive gives its holder ×2.2 cut speed. Crown Cut gives its holder ×1.8 money and +50% cut speed, trading some of Overdrive's speed emphasis for higher Pay.

These configurations illustrate the difference:

Barber Current trait Speed Pay
Fade Phantom Overdrive ×6.82 ×8.07
Fade Phantom Crown Cut ×4.65 ×14.53
Neon Nico Overdrive ×4.95 ×4.94
Neon Nico Crown Cut ×3.38 ×8.90

Favor Overdrive when faster cutting is your priority; favor Crown Cut when you want both speed and higher payment. The bonuses apply to the barber holding the trait, so compare each owned copy's current configuration when choosing who stays equipped.

After changing a trait, reopen BARBERS and reconsider any close replacement decision using the updated Speed and Pay. For broader keep-or-reroll choices, see the trait tier list.
