Roll a Barber RNG Equipment: Upgrades and Level 2 Choices

Last updated:

Equipment upgrades improve Speed, Tips, or both. Choose your next purchase by comparing the bonus change and cash price on each item's card.

At the displayed LV 2/25 prices, prioritize Steel Scissors for Speed: $10M upgrades its multiplier from ×1.10 to ×1.22. Choose Pro Clippers for both Speed and Tips at $12M, or Compact Hair Dryer for a Tips-focused upgrade at $13M. Open the Shop's Equipment tab to view and buy upgrades.

Compare the four equipment items at their displayed LV 2/25 state and next-upgrade previews.

Open Equipment and Read an Upgrade Card

  1. Approach the SHOP counter and press E at the Open prompt.
  2. Select the Equipment tab.
  3. Read the level badge. LV 2/25 means the item is currently Level 2, with a level cap of 25.
  4. Compare the values on either side of the arrow: the left value is the current multiplier, and the right value is the next level's multiplier. Check whether the bonus affects Speed, Tips, or both.
  5. Read the cash price on that item's UPGRADE button. Once you have enough cash, click it to buy the upgrade. If you are short, keep earning before purchasing.

Compare the Four Level 2 Upgrade Previews

All four items below are at LV 2/25, so their previews describe the next upgrade to Level 3. Prices are in-game cash for that single upgrade—not initial purchase prices or cumulative spending. M means million.

Compare both the current and next multipliers. A higher next value alone does not tell you how much a purchase adds; the change from the current value matters too.

Choose for Speed, Mixed Bonuses or Tips

  • Speed: prioritize Steel Scissors. Its $10M upgrade moves Speed from ×1.10 to ×1.22. Straight Razor costs $14M for ×1.05 to ×1.10, making Scissors the more attractive next purchase for Speed: a larger multiplier increase at a lower price.
  • Speed and Tips: choose Pro Clippers. For $12M, Speed rises from ×1.06 to ×1.14 and Tips rises from ×1.05 to ×1.12. Compared with Scissors, you spend more and get a smaller Speed increase, but improve Tips in the same purchase.
  • Tips first: consider Compact Hair Dryer. Its $13M upgrade raises Tips from ×1.08 to ×1.16. That is a slightly larger Tips multiplier increase than Clippers offers, though Clippers costs $1M less and also adds Speed. Favor the dryer when Tips is your priority; favor Clippers when both bonuses matter.

These choices apply to the Level 2 previews above. They compare upgrade prices and bonus changes, rather than ranking cash returns across every equipment level.

For other ways to improve Tips, see the Tips bonuses guide. If you are deciding between equipment and other shop investments, use the online money guide or compare skill-tree upgrades and prerequisites.

Budget Only the Next Upgrade

Use the price on your current item card as your savings target. After buying an upgrade, read the new price and bonus preview before planning another purchase. Do not multiply a Level 2 quote by the remaining levels to estimate the cost of reaching Level 25.

For a waiting-time estimate, enter the selected upgrade's full price, your current cash, and your online earning rate into the savings calculator. For example, the Steel Scissors upgrade above uses a target of 10,000,000 cash; the calculator subtracts your balance to find how much more you need.
